Magenic recently consulted a bank management
software development company on a re-architecture of a complex commercial
intranet application. The requirements of this application necessitated liberal
use of DHTML with 3rd party controls, and a richness of display and
functionality within the client not typical of browser-based software. One issue
in particular that proved difficult was the lack of an HTML combobox control
with the robust functionality to meet the needs of the application.

Magenic explored a variety of options in an
attempt to find a suitable combobox control. DBi’s ctCombo V.4 fit our needs
well and was implemented in the application. During integration testing a
specific runtime licensing issue was discovered which proved to be a critical
problem. Working with DBi support to resolve the issue was a pleasure because of
their concern and sense of urgency. DBi went out of their way to help us solve
the problem by creating a separate version of the control that resolved the
licensing issue. DBi completed the work at a reasonable price and in a timely
fashion, allowing Magenic to deliver the software on time. We were very pleased
to work with DBi and would not hesitate to do so again.
